DESCRIPTION:A traditional Somerset wassail.\n\nThe annual celebration of the apple returns. A traditional Somerset celebration in the walled orchard at Shoemakers Museum in Street. With music\, storytelling\, and a competition for the finest headdress!!\n\nThe Langport Mummers will be there with music and dance\, and the legendary Les Davies (Westcountry Man\, CBE) will be master of ceremonies as the oldest tree in the orchard is blessed and\, it’s said\, encourages a good crop!\n\nNew this year is Morris Dancing with Savage Sisters\, with a chance to join in and give it a try! Plus a storytelling marquee for winter tales.\n\nThis year get your headdresses ready. Come in winter finery and wear a fancy apple-themed headdress to enter the competition! Adult and children’s prizes this year. If you need to prepare yours\, there will be a drop-in making session in the museum education space.\n\nRefreshments will be available\, including apple juice and cider to keep warm. This is an outside event\, so please dress appropriately in warm clothing and outdoor footwear – and remember to wear a fancy apple-themed headdress if you wish to enter the competition!\n\nEntry is free with your Annual museum pass.
